But seriously, I'm glad the hype is over, because I'm just sick of people saying "Oh, the Mayan calendar says the world's gonna end", because the calendar says NOTHING about the world ending! December 21, 2012 is just the last date on the Mayan calendar. I don't know who got the idea that a calendar ending equals an apocalypse, but they sure as hell need a punch in the face.
And even if the calendar did predict the end of the world, there's been thousands of similar predictions throughout history, and all of them were proved wrong. Why would this be any different?
And besides, how could the Mayans see the end of the world coming if they couldn't see the Spanish coming?
